Catherine studied Graphics and Illustration at Hornsey College of Art. Recent work has been a record and celebration of the Loose Valley and the lives lived there.

Church House sits in the base of the village and is sheltered and warm in the Summer. It is a welcoming heart of the village. It is home to the Hood family, tree surgeons for generations. Through their generosity, it has hosted many events over the years; Easter egg hunts, Carol singing, folk dance and Rita’s special MacMillan coffee mornings.

This is the view from the top of Malthouse Hill, showing the shape of the valley with the evening light sneaking over the hill from the West and spreading across the garden. The tiny central figure in red was my husband, Malcolm, planting his potatoes on Good Friday.
